This legal opinion was rendered in the context of a dispute, wherein the contentious issue relates to the imputation of payments of debts arising out of bank credit notes, which were, in their turn, guaranteed by means of a suretyship. It also analyses the acceleration, as well as the inapplicability of the legal framework of imputation of payments of the principal sum and interest to the case in discussion.
