Abstract

The legal study of artificial intelligence is mainly a study on a specific method. Although considered to be a new phenomenon, AI shall be analyzed by means of the existing framework of rules, especially those established by the recent EU Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of personal data, especially those dictated by the new Reg. (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data. The study of AI helps to evaluate how to balance the right to protection of personal data and the practical need to store large amounts of data for the development of such technology. In addition to that, the paper will shed light on the liability for damages caused by AI applications.
