The changes on the system capacity and the inclusion on the supported decision as from the handicapped people statute

Abstract

This article aims to analyse the
people with mental disorder capacity changes, as well as the introduction of the supported decision system at the brazilian law, through the Handicapped People Statute. In order to achieve the first goal, it makes an historical analysis of brazilian laws about the capacity, starting from the prior national laws up to the Handicapped People Statute. To achieve the second goal, it analyses the brazilian supported decision system in comparison with foreign similar systems.
