Abstract

This paper analyses the set of rules established on Law n. 14,010 of 2020, as originated from Bill n. 1,179 of 2020, which determined the Emergency and Temporary Legal Framework for relationships involving Private Law during the period of Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil (Portuguese acronym: RJET). The aim of such Law was to regulate the most relevant themes regarding relationships involving Private law. In this sense, Law 14,010 of 2020 should be interpreted as an additional set of rules to those on the Brazilian Civil Code in order to deal with the legal issues arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, including those related to prescription and Inheritance Law. Based on legal scholarship and precedents, the paper intends to analyse the set of rules established on Law 14,010 of 2020 and its consequences.
