Abstract

Over the last years, the accelerated technological progress has enabled the development of a series of mechanisms for capturing, handling and disseminating the human person’s image, which has facilitated the threat of damage or even the effective violation of the right to image on the internet. In this environment, the cases of unauthorized disclosure of intimate pictures and videos of women have become recurrent, which includes the so-called revenge porn. Before that, the present paper aims to analyze the definition and the content of the right to image in a constitutional light, as well as the mechanisms of protection of this right, with emphasis on how the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet regulates cases of unauthorized disclosure of intimate images.
