This article aims to analyze the impacts
of the Person with Disabilities Act and the 2015 Code of Civil Procedure on the theory of disabilities, interdiction and representation of people psychic disability. The following specifc objectives were set: (a) presenting the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the changes made by the People with Disabilities Act in the theory of disabilities; (b) analyzing the theory of disabilities from the 1916 and 2002 Civil Codes, before the reform, and doctrinal considerations that had already been made about the theoryof disabilities; (c) evaluating the changes in the interdiction process engendered by the 2015 Civil Procedure Code. Therefore, an initial analysis about the changes caused by the mentioned legislation is presented.
