Abstract

The present article is the transcription of a lecture in honor of professor Fábio Konder Comparato, which took place at the event celebrating the 190th founding anniversary of University of São Paulo’s Law School on August 2017. The theme of professor Comparato’s influence in Brazilian and foreign Law was approached through some of Comparato’s lessons, such as the myth of the “invisible hand” of the market, the prevalence of profit over production, the predominance of groups of companies in globalized economy, the inhibitive nature of Law and the problem of control over wealth.
